4 AcO DMT
4-Acetoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (also known as 4-AcO-DMT, 4-Acetoxy-DMT, O-Acetylpsilocin, and psilacetin) is a novel psychedelic substance of the tryptamine class. 4-AcO-DMT is chemically similar to psilocybin, the active ingredient in psilocybin mushrooms (magic mushrooms). It belongs to a group known as the substituted tryptamines which act by stimulating serotonin receptorsin the brain.
The synthesis of 4-AcO-DMT was first reported in 1963 by Albert Hofmann and Franz Troxler. However, its properties were not examined and no further studies were carried out. A 1999 paper by David E. Nichols suggested it as a useful alternative to psilocybin for pharmacological research. Reports of human use began to surface following its appearance on the online research chemical market in the 2010s.
User reports indicate that the subjective effects of 4-aco det 4-aco mipt are near identical to those of psilocybin mushrooms for pharmacological studies. Like psilocybin, 4-AcO-DMT is theorized to act as a prodrug to psilocin, which may account for this similarity. Characteristic effects include geometric visual hallucinations, time distortion, enhanced introspection, and ego loss. 4-AcO-DMT’s classical psychedelic effects and favorable tolerability profile has led it to become popular among novel psychoactive substance users, particularly those seeking mystical-like or entheogenic experiences.
Very little data exists on the pharmacology, metabolism, and toxicity of 4-AcO-DMT. Like other psychedelics, it is assumed to be non-toxic and non-addictive (although there is no evidence to support this). It is highly advised to use harm reduction practices if using this substance.
This is the shorthand for 4 acetoxy-N,N dimethyltryptamine, which is a novel psychedelic substance that belongs to class tryptamine. The substance is much similar to the psilocybin, in which the major and active ingredient is magic mushrooms (psilocybin mushroom). The magic mushroom belongs to the group called the substituted tryptamines, which act by stimulating serotonin receptors in the brain. This was first reported by Albert Hofmann and Franz. The subjective effects are found much similar to the psilocybin mushrooms. A person after its use is known to have visual hallucinations, time distortion and enhanced introspection.
It is generally sold as the furmate salt and is available as a brown or off white powder. This is also available as the pills, tablets, capsules, and other forms.
The effects of the 4 aco DMT are similar to both the psilocybin and the DMT both. The difference of the effects depends on the dose taken.
It is generally taken orally or can be taken intranasally as well. As compared to the psilocybin mushrooms, they result in faster and more intense onset.
Generally, the consumer will get the following effects with the usage:
- Euphoria
- Mental stimulation
- Flow of ideas
- Increased empathy
- Enjoyment or mundane tasks
- Brighter colors
- Spiritual or mystical experience
- Feelings of wonder
- Sense of rapture
- Pupil dilation and thus sensitivity to light
- Auditory hallucinations
- Increased or decreased emotional sensitivity
- Amnesia
- Sedation or stimulation
- Compulsive yawning
- Synesthesia
- Loss of ego
- Difficulty sleeping
- Dizziness
- Confusion/ fear or anxiety
- Paranoia
High end doses report death and in some cases, people also forget their own names.
Precautions– It is advised not to eat at least a couple of hours beforehand.
